Drinking-water, sanitation and hygiene in the Western Pacific Region : opportunities and challenges in the SDG era
View/ Open
Abstract
The Sustainable Development Goals initiated in 2015 by the UN member states aim to achieve universal coverage with safely managed water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) by 2030. This book provides urgently needed baseline information on the current WASH situation in countries for the governments and international partners, as well as other stakeholders in the Region. Most findings are based on the data and information provided by two global monitoring initiatives of WHO and UNICEF: Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (JMP) and the Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS).Citation
