Abstract

This publication summarizes key information on HBM: its objectives, the value of the information obtained through HBM surveys for making decisions on chemicals management to minimize negative health impacts, and challenges countries may face when implementing national HBM programmes. It also highlights the unique value of HBM for assessing prenatal exposure, building capacity, and preparing for emergencies related to environmental pollution.
