Abstract
For the first time in the Region, an intercountry consultation on the control of iodine deficiency disorders brought together experts from and outside the Region, who described the public health significance of iodine deficiency disorders and identified steps for their control. This booklet essentially established the direction for the control and prevention of iodine deficiency disorders in the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean
